I wanted to record something with my working band at the time: Tim Davis on drums and Dave Marr on bass. We had had a successful run of gigs locally over the previous few years and felt tuned into the repertoire and each other. I felt as if we captured the live sound of this band with this recording. I am very proud of the loose feel of this recording – a testament to how comfortable we were with each other even when stretching out on the tunes. We were able to push the tunes to their limits without loosing control of the overall concept.
